Division VII – Shorebird Carve & Paint Contest

Competition (At Show)

The 2008 bird will be the Western Sandpiper with no entry fee.

2. The birds are to be painted by one person in whatever style as can be managed within the time period.

3. Time limit will be four hours and 15 minutes.

4. Contestants must provide their own paint, brushes, power tools, hair dryers, etc.

5. Contestants must use blanks and mounting bases provided by the O.D.C.C.A.

6. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.

7. Winners to be chosen by judges. Refer to the award section of the brochure for contest prizes.

8. All carvings become property of the O.D.C.C.A. and will be auctioned off following the judging. Auction proceeds to benefit O.D.C.C.A.
 


Division VIII – Head Whittling Contest Competition (At Show)

1. This year’s bird will be a Black Duck. A band-sawed blank will be supplied by the O.D.C.C.A.

2. Contestants must furnish all of their own tools, sandpaper, etc. No power tools.

3. This contest has a two-hour time limit and no entry fee.

4. Winners to be chosen by judges. Refer to the award section of the brochure for contest prizes.

5. All carvings become property of the O.D.C.C.A. and will be auctioned off Sunday afternoon at the Shorebird Auction all proceeds to benefit O.D.C.C.A.
 


Division IX – Decoy Painting Contest Competition (At Show)

1. This year’s bird is a Black Duck. A gessoed decoy will be supplied by the O.D.C.C.A.

2. Contestants must furnish all of their own paints, brushes, etc.

3. This contest has a three-hour time limit, no entry fee and two different competition time periods – one on Friday evening and Saturday morning.

4. Winners to be chosen by judges. Refer to the award section of the brochure for contest prizes.

5. All entries become property of the O.D.C.C.A. and will be auctioned off Sunday afternoon at the Shorebird Auction. All proceeds to benefit O.D.C.C.A
