A Poem By “Buckeye Joe” Wooster
Decoy carvers are simple men,
Unconcerned by riches an’ sin.
Love of nature is their yoke
Easy prey for clever folk.
Finding fame with deft-ful strokes,
They’re often the butt of neighbor’s jokes.
Double your money off this fool,
There’s little chance of ridicule.
Yet maybe this is something to ponder,
For who for fortune held any fonder?
What more could anyone ask of life
Than to be removed from all this strife?
Spirit free and worlds to trod
Worshiping nature as our God!
