- Only Species listed in the Wildfowlers' rules will be judged.
- **Shooting Stools will be judged by class. The six (6) Decoy Classes are: Marsh Duck, Diving Duck, Sea Duck, Goose and Swan, Confidence and Stretched Canvas.
- **Contestants must enter six (6) decoys of the same species with AT LEAST TWO OF EACH SEX.

- Decoys must be equipped with short 12" lines as they will be attached to mother lines.
- Decoys must be made of wood, cork or stretched canvas. Machine duplicated decoys will be disqualified.
- Decoys must be carved to accentuate decoying capabilities, not necessarily realistic qualities. Decoys will be judged on simplicity, practicality and durability.
- **Decoys must be carved in traditional hunting decoy style-no detailing of fragile bills, necks, wing tips or tails. **No raised primaries, No carved details in bills, slight mandible separation will be permitted** STRICTLEY ENFORCED
- Decoys must be painted in traditional hunting decoy style - brushing, ragging, stippling, combing, scratching, blending or burned cork. No feather definition other than outline will be allowed. No flocking will be permitted.
- Decoy must be carved and painted so as to be easily duplicated to create a shooting rig of thirty-six or more decoys. **Birds should be painted in a manner so that any duck hunter can maintain its appearance from season to season**
- Decoys themselves must be non-fouling and must be able to withstand the day to day rigors of hunting - careless handling, bagging, ice, heavy seas, taking shots, etc.
PRE-JUDGING
Decoys will be staged at a pre-judging station after entry forms are accepted with payment in full. Chairment and or Co-Chairman will pre judge using the rules as printed.
NO refunds will be made for disqualified decoys
JUDGING
- **Decoys will be tossed into a large body of water and must self-right from the position that they land. Decoys will be disqualified for failure to self-right. Weights and keels must be practical and non-foulding. Decoys must have a facility for an anchor line.
- Judges will NOT be allowed to touch or handle any decoy before or during judging. A predetermined distance will be set by the Chairmen of the Wildfowlers contest in the spirit of - LOOKING FOR THE BEST DECOY THAT INCORPORATES ALL THE QUALITIES OF A TRUE HUNTING DECOY.
- Decoys entered in the IWCA Style Hunting Decoy contest WILL NOT be eligible to be entered in Wildfowler's or Shooting Stool competition. Carvers may not move decoys from the Shooting Stool Contest into the Wildfowler's Contest, or from Wildfowler's Contest into the Shooting Stool Contest.
- Best of show will be judged using the replacment rule.

All Classes -$10 for first entry and $5 for each additional entry

Best of Show - Open
The Best of Show decoy will remain with the ODCCA for one year for display purposes at the Migratory Bird Center, Magee Marsh and then returned to the carver. |
