The 2014 ODCCA carving/painting seminar will again focus on oil painting techniques. This year we are privileged to have Jode Hillman spend some time with us to demonstrate his carving and painting techniques.
Jode Hillman is a professional woodworker who carved his first decoy in 1999. His magnificent painting ability is attributed to countless hours of practice and a sheer sense of determination. Jode's characteristic painting style is now the most distinctive feature of his decoys. He has competed in numerous decoy competitions taking home a number of best of show awards and one of his wood duck decoys was portrayed on the 2006 New Jersey Duck Stamp.
The seminar will take place on March 7th from 9:00am until 1:00pm. The cost of the seminar will be $40 and is limited to the first 30 people to sign up.
Attendees will be able to paint along with Jode if they choose and they will need to supply their own materials (a list will be provided at a later time). If you plan to paint, please indicate that when you sign up for the event so preparations can be made. If you do not wish to paint, that is fine as well.
