Free admission for Students 17 and under! It’s the Biggest In-Person Carving and Collecting Show of 2022! Hey Kids, turn off your computers and learn how you can enter our hands-on Wildlife Art contests. Come visit this year and see how to compete next year! 43rd Ohio Decoy Collectors & Carvers Association and the Great Lakes Decoy Association present... Our shows are family-friendly, everyone is welcome. Admission for adults is $5 for the weekend. The Ohio Decoy Collectors and Carvers Association, non-profit, holds 24 carving/painting competitions. Our two-day show brings together a unique blend of competitive wood carvers of all ages, wildlife artists, collectors and vendors from throughout Ohio, the USA and Canada. Become a mentor! Art teachers, scout leaders, wood shop and science teachers, parents, school administrators and home school can learn about our kids’ contests and participate next year in our 2023 show! All children’s contests are free to enter. See 650 entries, north American ducks, owls, hawks, shorebirds, songbirds, fish decoys, miniatures, jigging sticks and flat art. Ohio Federal Junior Duck Stamp Competition This duck stamp contest is a dynamic art and science-based ciriculum that teaches waterfowl and wetland conservation. Click here for website. And click here to view video. 2. Ward World Silhouette contest ODCCA partners with the Ward World Championship. We will assist entries from our show to be entered in the Ward Show. The pattern for the simple silhouette is available on our website. Entries can be done as a group project or individual. Four age groups. Click here for more info. 3. Wildfowlers Youth Contests This competition is based on the tradition of basic, functional, hunting-style decoys. This is especially a great contest for beginning carvers. Entries should be simple functional, with little detail, and hand-made with the sole purpose to attract live waterfowl. Click here for more info. 4. ODCCA flat art contest This contest is for kids who like to draw or paint. Any migratory waterfowl, goose or shorebird can be the subject. Any fine art media may be used with the exception of photographs or computer. Minimum size is 8 x 10 inches, and maximum size is 11 x 14 inches, and should not be framed or have glass or matting.
