Many ODCCA participants also enter the annual Great Lakes Fish Decoy and Carving World Championships held annually in September in Monroe, Michigan. ODCCA is now using their rules.

Fish Decoy Carve-at-Home & Paint-at-Show - 4 hour contest,
Sunday March 15, 2020 Ballroom

The carver is provided a blank and carves the entry at home using carving tools and methods of their choice. At the show, the carving will be painted in full during the four hours allotted for the contest, no carving is permitted during the contest. Request blanks from Al Reeg no later than March 1, 2020, by calling him at 517-617-0797. Blanks will then be mailed to each interested contestant.
1. The fish will a Pan Fish.
2. There is no entry fee.
3. The allotted time for painting at the show will be four hours,
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday morning in the Ballroom.
4. The use of carved or glass eyes is allowed.
5. The ONLY painting permitted prior to the show will be the
priming of the carving in a single color if the contestant
chooses to do so.
6. All Carvings become the property of the ODCCA and will be auctioned following the judging. Auction proceeds will
benefit the the ODCCA, a non-profit organization.
7. Multiple entries must be received in order for the contest to be held.
